Welcome

by Admin 10/27/2007 10:23:00 PM

Hi and welcome to my blog!  In this blog I will be writing down to earth descriptions of hotels and activiites as well as some helpful hints picked up from my travels that I hope you will find usefull. I encourage visitors to this site to post reviews of hotels and any other tips that you may have so that we can help others make the best of their Grand Bahama vacation. I will try to avoid using any marketing terms and describe all things in an honest and easy to read format. To begin with, I will be writing a little about each of the hotels in Grand Bahama and what to expect - if you have stayed in any of these hotels and have comments or reviews, please go agead and add them to this blog.

Thanks

Anthony

Welcome to BlogEngine.NET with MSSQL provider

by Admin 9/30/2007 1:00:00 AM

If you see this post it means that BlogEngine.NET is running and the SQL Server provider is configured correctly.

Setup

If you are using the ASP.NET Membership provider, you are set to use existing users. If you are using the default BlogEngine.NET XML provider, find and open the users.xml file which is located in the App_Data folder. Edit the default user and provide your own name as the username and a password of your choice. Save the users.xml file with the new username and password and you are now able to log in and start writing posts.

Write permissions

Since you are using SQL to store your posts, most information is stored there. However, if you want to store attachments or images in the blog, you will want write permissions setup on the App_Data folder.

On the web

You can find BlogEngine.NET on the official website. Here you will find tutorials, documentation, tips and tricks and much more. The ongoing development of BlogEngine.NET can be followed at CodePlex where the daily builds will be published for anyone to download.

Good luck and happy writing.

About the author

This is a personal weblog. The views and opinions expressed here represent my own (and those of some of the commentators that I have included) and not those of Discovery Cruise Line or Discovery Management. I have worked in the cruise industry since joining Carnival Cruise Line in 1990 as a member of the cruise staff team. I joined the Discovery Cruise Line family in 1996, sailing daily to Grand Bahama Island as Shore Excursion Manager. I was promoted to the position of Cruise Director in 1999 and continued to sail daily to Grand Bahama Island until 2003, when I began working in the Miami office as Entertainment & Communications Manager. I still continue to sail to Grand Bahama at least one day per week. The purpose of this blog is to share tips and information about Grand Bahama in the I hope that it will be useful in helping visitors make the best of their travel plans from both my own and other bloggers' experiences.
